The 2000 China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair concluded Wednesday in Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu Province.

According to the organizers, business turnover during the five-day event reached 1.12 billion yuan (135 million US dollars).

Initial statistics show that 226 contracts worth 8.87 billion yuan were signed during the Fair. The Fair also generated 290 million US dollars in foreign investment.

Over 1,000 enterprises from 15 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities attended the Fair.

The Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair has been held successfully for seven years since 1992.
