June 7 (Xinhua) -- North China's Tianjin Municipality has been selected by the State information office as a trial city to experiment with e-commerce.

Tianjin has come up with a general e-commerce outline selecting a number of enterprises and popularizing the use of Internet in all its business sectors.

The next stage will be for the city to develop e-commerce by launching a networking project among finance, taxation and trade sectors, and begin a trial operation of its e-commerce network.

An industrial Internet website has been set up attracting more than 500 local enterprises. The city has also launched a special training program to promote e-commerce.
